At-Home Services (which is how we answer the phone)
is a small family business with two areas of expertise. We intend to remain
this way because it allows us to give our customers that personal service
which is often lacking with a larger organisation. |

After leaving school, Steve Sharman spent some years learning the electrical
trade as an electricians mate before branching into precision engineering.
In 1985 he started his own engineering business and continued in this
field until the year 2000, although he continued to do a lot of electrical
work during this time. Since returning to electrical work on a full-time
basis, Steve has been back to college to gain or renew his qualifications
and now trades as an independant electrician concentrating on domestic
installations. He holds City & Guilds 2382, C&G 2391, C&G

The Computers @ Home arm,
originally based in Frinton-on-Sea, Essex was started in the summer of 2000.
Since then, they have built up a large portfolio of satisfied customers
and stopped most forms of advertising a few years ago. Practically all work
in the last few years has come from personal recommendation and repeat visits
to loyal customers. Now that they have moved to the Isle of Wight they will
try to build up a similar customer base here, offering the same level of
support to their new customers. To see what our past customers have to say, please visit the Testimonials page. |
| Electrics @ Home kicked off in 2006 after the Local Authority building inspector told Steve to get an approved electrician in to wire their new extension, get his qualifications up to date and join one of the schemes or pay the council to inspect all the wiring. After lots of discussion, it was decided that Steve would do the neccessary and, officially, "go back on the tools". |  ![]() |
Janice started her career as a nurse back in 1971 and, apart from a short break to follow other interests, stayed with the NHS until 1996. The final twelve years of her nursing career were spent as a District nurse in the Frinton and Clacton areas until she decided it was time to take over the administration side of our business. One of her great strengths is juggling the appointments schedule to ensure that the maximum time is available to help the customer and the minimum time is wasted driving between customers. |

Finally, to all our past customers in the Tendring area, we would like to say goodbye and a BIG thank you
for supporting our business over the last nine years. Many of you became personal friends
and we would hope to be able to keep in touch with you. |
